New financing round in the climate tech sector: London-based climate tech investor FirstImagine! has successfully closed a Series A financing round for Munich-based PIONIERKRAFT GmbH, a leading provider of innovative tenant solar sharing solutions in Germany.
99% of all German apartment buildings do not yet have a PV system on the roof. This is exactly where PIONIERKRAFT comes in with its patented technology and clear focus on multi-tenant buildings with 3-12 apartments: The ClimateTech startup enables homeowners to pass on surplus solar power directly to their tenants with minimal regulatory effort. This is what makes the installation of PV systems on apartment buildings profitable. The CO2 saved in this way represents an important contribution to the energy transition in the housing industry, which accounts for around 30% of CO2 emissions in Germany.
PIONIERKRAFT’s unique combination of hardware and software solution intelligently combines the generation of solar energy with actual energy consumption and enables the direct exchange of surplus solar power between households. With this peer-to-peer solution, owners can share their self-generated solar energy safely and efficiently with their neighbors. Billing is fully automated via the software. This not only reduces energy costs, but also actively promotes the decentralized energy transition at a local level.
